Dr. Seuss Spirit Week! Week of February 29th - March 4th

Let's Celebrate Dr. Seuss with a week of fun! 

Monday - Backwards Day 

Tuesday - Twin Day 

Wednesday - Red and white -OR- Dress as a Dr. Seuss character 

Thursday - Crazy Hat Day 

Friday - Pajama Day 

On Wednesday, March 2nd, please bring books to read throughout the day. We are also going to have a pancake breakfast, so if your child has allergies, please contact me about an alternative option. 

Week of February 22nd, 2016

This Week in Class:

Math - We will continue learning about strategies for division. We will also explore 2 step word problems!

Social Studies - We will bring our Native Groups studies to a close with learning about the Tlingit Native Group.

Reminders - Variety Show is this Friday the 26th @ 6:00 !!!
                  - Last day to bring in goodies for the "Movie Night" basket are Monday the 22nd!

This Week in Class: 

Math: 

We will begin Chapter 7 which will cover strategies for dividing. 

Social Studies: 

We will learn about the Aleut culture. 

Writing: 

We will write Valentines!

Our Chapter 6 test on division is Wednesday! We will also be doing a project that shows the relationship between multiplication and division! 

Social Studies: 

We will learn about the Yupik native group this week. 

Writing: 

We are writing about acts of kindness we do around school. We will also begin writing Valentine's Day poems! 

Variety Show Baskets!

Hello Wonderful Families! 

Your child is bringing home information and a permission slip about the Ursa Major Variety Show in February! Our class will be performing the song "Do I Dare" along with Ms. Conner and Mrs. Thomas' classes! 

Part of the variety show is putting together themed baskets for auction. 3rd grade chose to put together a "Movie Night" basket. Please make donations for our basket. You could donate DVDs, candy, popcorn, gift cards, etc... Any donation will help. If you have further questions, please see the form or you can email me. Looking forward to it!!! 

Dino Lights Field Trip Permission Slips Due This Week!!!

I am still missing a lot of permission slips and money for our field trip. 

Permission Slips and money are due to me by Monday, February 1st, 2016 (Preferably before then). 

Field Trip day is March 21st, 2016 and we will leave at 9:15 and return at 12:00. 

Fee: $8.00 for both students and chaperones. 

We still need chaperones. If you can chaperone please let me know :)
